The Brain and Early Learning, 5th Annual Science Symposium

Inviting all early childhood educators, librarians, administrators and homeschool parents to come learn about research trends in early childhood brain development and teaching strategies.

Learn new strategies to engage young learners in the discovery of science, engineering, art, language, nature, and much more! During this 5th annual symposium, there will be a keynote presentation by Dr. Sam Chan, focusing on healthy brain development in early childhood. Additionally, there will be breakout sessions with a wide variety of topics. There will also be time to browse through our Curriculum Fair to learn about different programs and products that you can take back to your site or community event that will enhance young children's explorations and learning opportunities. Humpback Whales Educator Workshop

Inviting 3rd through 8th grade teachers in Title 1 schools within a 10-mile radius of the California Science Center.

Learn about new research related to the amazing humpback whales from a conversation with a cetacean expert, and watching this impressive movie. Acquire new teaching strategies and hands-on activities that you can use in your classroom to teach students about the lives and migrating patterns of these intelligent marine mammals. Plus receive tickets to bring your students on a field trip to watch the movie.

Preschool Hands-On STEM Program

Engage young learners in the discovery of nature and science!  Each of our thematic units includes materials for preschool-kindergarten students to explore scientific concepts and create models to demonstrate what they are learning.  Curriculum aligns with California Preschool Learning Foundations in Science.  We provide a full-day workshop for each unit, as well as the necessary materials for immediate implementation in your classroom!  Programs are customizable; your group or school can select one, two, or all seven units.  For group pricing, please contact
