Supported Programs

California State Science Fair

The annual California State Science Fair recognizes the achievements of 1,000 middle and high school students who win top honors at their county and regional science fairs to qualify for this statewide competition. THE MUSES contribute funding to help underwrite items such as the awards ceremonies and photography, and also volunteer time at this two-day event.

Community Youth Programs

Community Youth Programs offer science enrichment opportunities: Curator Kids Club for ages 11-13; and the Community Teen Program for ages 15-17. THE MUSES' financial investment and volunteer participation during field trips, interview workshops and family celebrations help strengthen the science literacy of deserving local youth.

Hands-On Science Camp

THE MUSES fund scholarships which provide pre-K through 8th grade children from low-income families with the opportunity to participate in hands-on science classes at the California Science Center during the summer.

Woman of the Year Fundraiser

The annual Woman of the Year luncheon is the major fundraiser that allows THE MUSES to support youth education programs at the California Science Center. Each year this event honors a woman or women who have made outstanding contributions in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Stay tuned for more details regarding this year's honoree and event.
