FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

California Science Center Announces Temporary Closure Effective March 16

Los Angeles, CA - In consultation with the State of California, the California Science Center will be closed temporarily effective Monday, March 16. This decision was made to support the efforts of state and local health authorities to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.

The closure will include all California Science Center exhibitions, IMAX films, events and programs.

“This recommended precautionary measure is to ensure a safe and healthy environment. We look forward to announcing soon when we’ll be able to welcome our guests back to the Science Center. Until then, we invite you to take advantage of our online activities.”

The Science Center’s living collections staff will continue to provide on-site animal care and operate critical life-support systems in the Kelp Forest and other living environments.

We ask for your patience while the situation unfolds. Any changes and updates to programs or hours will be announced by email, on our website, and through social media channels.
