Next Generation Science Standards 101 for TK-5th Grade Teachers

Join us for a unique Hands-On professional learning experience! Participants will walk away with a basic understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards as you DO the Science & Engineering Practices, UNDERSTAND the Disciplinary Core Ideas, and CONNECT ideas with the Crosscutting Concepts. You will explore and experience the Engineering Design Process and leave with resources and ideas you can implement immediately!

Registration Information

Fee: $125 per participant
(Fee includes 6 hours of professional learning, take home materials and resources, light breakfast, lunch, and parking. Participants are asked to bring a laptop computer. WiFi will be provided.)

Next Generation Science Standards Summer Institute for TK-5th Grade Teachers

The California Science Center is offering an interactive, hands-on, grade span-specific 3-day summer institute that supports the implementation of Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for elementary schools. The program will help teachers increase familiarity with their new grade level standards, the Engineering Design Process, and the use of Interactive Science Notebooks, and provide a basis for planning instruction around the new standards.

NGSS Summer Institute Dates

  • July 17-19, 2018 for TK-2nd grade teachers
  • July 24-26, 2018 for 3rd-5th grade teachers

Registration Information

Elementary Science Partnership Series

A California Science Center NGSS Professional Development Opportunity

The California Science Center Foundation is offering an intensive, interactive partnership program that provides the opportunity for individual schools, entire districts, or networks of schools to increase familiarity with the NGSS and provide a basis for planning instruction around the new standards in advance of upcoming assessments and state-wide realization.
